It's final! She's a Haggard now.

We finalized the adoption of Erika on November 20, 2009. It was a great, fun, and hectic day and we are glad to finally call her ours. Jason couldn't be here, so we called him in Iraq and he listened in on the whole thing over speaker phone. Erika told the judge that she wanted to be first to talk when her daddy called and the judge smiled and asked her to come up where he and the phone were. After we adopted her, she got to adopt a teddy bear and all throughout the proceedings of other families, she had her eye on a certain bear. Every time a kid got close to picking that one, she whispered "no" to that kid. She was a hoot all day long! She also got to do a news interview because Fox had been following our story. After the court proceedings, we all went to eat at 50th Street Caboose and Erika received a bunch of gifts from the family.
